National Debt

I believe that our National Debt is a disgrace and is a testament to our political ability “to do the right thing”. Yes, the political pundits can argue the pros and cons in detail. However, in terms of a family unit or business unit, running a high debt is not only unwise, it is a cause for failure. I don't think our National Debt should be a “special case”. We can talk about spending levels, cutting programs, and increasing income through raising taxes and the talk seems endless. Inefficiencies are abundant and fraud, waste and abuse is far too common. Unfortunately, instead of striving to doing better, we make blind cuts and some of the beneficial programs are cut equally with the not-so-desirable programs. Why? Leadership and the lack of politicians working for all of “us”, not just “them” or special interest groups.
